Perry Weather Lands $110M Growth Investment, Plans Major Dallas Hiring Expansion for Weather Ops & Safety Platform

Published on September 9, 2026 | Written by Evan Benet | Emerging Markets

In this article:

DALLAS, Texas (September 8, 2026) — Perry Weather, a leading weather safety and operations platform, today announced a $110 million growth investment led by Silversmith Capital Partners, a Boston-based growth equity firm, with participation from Arthur Ventures, which led the company’s Series A and Series B rounds.

The investment will accelerate the development of AI-powered capabilities across Perry Weather’s product suite and support the company’s continued rapid growth, including plans to add more than 50 new roles through 2027 across software and hardware engineering, product, support, and services at its Dallas headquarters.

More than 3,000 organizations, from school districts and cities to leading construction firms, manufacturers, and major professional sports leagues, trust Perry Weather to protect their people and operations from severe weather and extreme heat.

“This partnership lets us invest aggressively in the next generation of our platform and the people who build it, and we’re grateful to Silversmith and Arthur Ventures for believing in the mission as deeply as we do,” said Colin Perry, Founder and CEO of Perry Weather. “Weather is getting more regulated and more disruptive every year, and the stakes are human lives.”

On-site data, automatic action

Nearly every organization Perry Weather serves already has weather policies. What most lack is a consistent way to enforce those policies. Today that job falls to a coach, superintendent, or safety manager watching a consumer weather app fed by stations miles away, then deciding in the moment whether to clear the field or shut down the site.

Decisions made late put people at risk, and decisions made early halt work that could have safely continued.

Perry Weather closes that gap. On-site stations measure conditions where people actually work, practice, and play. Automated sirens and phone notifications enforce the organization’s policy, telling people to modify or stop activity, and the all-clear follows when it’s safe to resume. Every alert, response, and resumption is logged automatically, creating a defensible compliance record as weather regulations tighten. What once depended on someone watching and deciding is now automatic, consistent, and documented.

“Perry Weather is exactly the kind of business we look to partner with: a founder-led, category-defining company with an exceptional product, passionate customers, and a significant market opportunity ahead of it,” said Sri Rao, Managing Partner at Silversmith Capital Partners, who will join Perry Weather’s board of directors. “Colin and his team have built the modern standard for weather safety, and AI is further accelerating what Perry Weather does so well: turning differentiated, real-time weather data into better decisions and translating those decisions into action across mission-critical operations and workflows.”

From judgment call to requirement

Weather safety is moving from best practice to codified requirement. More than 20 state high school athletic associations now mandate wet bulb globe temperature monitoring and require activity adjustments when readings cross defined thresholds, including Texas, where the University Interscholastic League’s mandate took effect in August.

The same shift is underway at the workplace. Seven states now enforce workplace heat standards, more are in rulemaking, and OSHA has proposed the first federal heat injury and illness prevention standard.

Perry Weather works with 24 out of the top 25 general contractors on ENR’s Top 400 list and is expanding across manufacturing and energy, where weather drives operational disruption alongside safety risk.

Perry Weather’s approach is designed to standardize the response to weather, not replace the judgment of safety leaders. The platform automates the monitoring and notification work that produces inconsistent enforcement and unnecessary shutdowns, freeing safety teams to run their programs instead of watching radar.

Part of the investment will fund Perry Weather’s AI roadmap. Thousands of on-site weather stations feed one connected dataset, ground truth from the exact locations customers need to protect. Perry Weather will leverage AI and their proprietary dataset to enrich regional and national forecast models that sharpen hyperlocal forecasts and always-on operational software so teams see weather coming sooner. AI sits at the heart of anticipating needs proactively whether curating insights on weather disruption or ensuring world-class fleet connectivity so critical hardware systems stay connected day and night.

“Weather decisions get made every day at schools, job sites, and stadiums all across the country, and Perry Weather has become the way organizations make them. We’ve had a front-row seat since the Series A. We are thrilled to invest again alongside Silversmith,” said Pat Meenan, General Partner at Arthur Ventures.

Building in Dallas

Perry Weather has nearly doubled in revenue every year for six years and will hire faster with the new investment, growing all teams to better serve customers across all markets. The company was recently named one of the Dallas Business Journal’s 2026 Best Places to Work and holds a 4.8 rating on Glassdoor. The offices are located in The Centrum in Uptown Dallas, and open roles are listed at perryweather.com/jobs.
