What type of weather does Perry Weather monitor?

How is your Wet Bulb Globe Temperature measurement different from the handheld devices or other weather stations?
Portable devices are prone to human-error, especially if they require frequent calibration or if users don’t use them properly.
For handheld devices to be accurate, they must be mounted on a tripod 4-6ft off of the ground and calibrated for 30 minutes prior to measurement.
Perry Weather’s outdoor weather station is equipped with a more capable 3.5” diameter black bulb, providing precise and timely WBGT readings without any need for calibration or waiting time.
My campus has a variety of surfaces; How do different surfaces like grass and turf impact WBGT readings?
You don’t need to monitor WBGT for every surface on your campus. While synthetic turf might show slightly higher temperatures and grass may have higher humidity, these variations are minimal.
The air above different surfaces mixes, balancing out these differences. So, a single WBGT reading within a specific radius (e.g., one to five square miles) is sufficient to provide accurate data for the whole area. This simplifies monitoring, ensuring safety without the need for surface-specific measurements.

Do we need to give you access to our Wi-Fi?
Perry Weather units are completely wireless and use cellular networks to provide strong connection at all times. Have poor cellular service in your area? Our built-in cellular VPN will always connect to the carrier with the best current signal ensuring a positive connection.
How do we set up all of our users and our weather alert policies?
We take this out of your hands completely. Your dedicated account manager will get you all set up with your specific weather policies and get all of your users set up on the software so you can be ready to go upon install.
